The Elk in the Woods – Islington

The Elk in the Woods has to be mentioned because it’s a beauty. Located on a great little backstreet behind Upper Street, home to lots of boutiques, cafes and antique shops, it’s a great place to come for any meal or just a drink although breakfast is my favourite, how can you beat pancakes with baked cinnamon pears, goats cheese yogurt and maple syrup? The pretty green tiling, wooden furniture, open fireplace, ornate leather arm chairs and stag antlers give it a convincing ski lodge appeal and is what make this bar come cafe come restaurant quite special.
