Riding House Cafe – Oxford Circus

Riding House Cafe is gorgeous. It’s very civilised for central London and reminds me a lot of Pastis in New York without the nauseating British ex-pat vibe. They say that New Yorkers feel the same way about the British as Londoners do about Australians. Riding House Cafe is beautifully designed with a Paris meets East London warehouse theme, very old fashioned brasserie with a ‘Sex in the city’ makeover. They have a great menu of comfort food, all at very reasonable prices which is surprising for the location. It’s one of the few places that jumps to mind in central London which is really stylish yet relaxed. It’s a no brainer for a good place to meet up as it has lots of seating and a menu that covers the mood or you can just get a coffee or a drink. It’s a bit like an upmarket version of the Breakfast Club with fewer parasols and fairy lights.
