Dukes Brew & Que – Dalston

I love Dukes Brew & Que, the food here is damn good. They have truly embraced American cooking specialising in BBQ, southern style with pork ribs, steak, burgers with sides such as mac and cheese, fries and coleslaw all served on ever fashionable metal trays. So I hear that Dukes is part owned by Logan Plant (Robert Plant’s son) and that it has its own brewery too called Beavertown which derives from the fact that the area where it is, De Beauvoir Town, used to be called ‘Beavertown’ a bit like how Shoreditch used to be called ‘The Jago’. The atmosphere is as great as the food and although they specialise in BBQ they do a delicious halloumi burger for vegetarians too. Located half way down and just off Kingsland road it’s perfectly located to accommodate all those groovy Dalston people and gets crazy busy so be sure to book.
