HER – Haggerston

I’m currently trying to get to grips with all these useful social media things like Twitter (which I have worked out is basically texting the world) and Instagram (I wondered why people had all these photos with a ‘I found this photo in a shoebox while cleaning out my grandmother’s closet vintage look to them), I call this kind of thing work. It’s one of those days where it’s pretty grey outside so I’ve left my flat for a change of scenery. On days like this I love the Haggerston Espresso Room. Actually I love it here on any kind of day. It has that kind of look, retro/modern, nice mixture of comfy chairs and tables, the most amazing almond croissants ever and lots of magazines, honestly it’s pretty much perfect. I’m having a great time watching two kids opposite read Vice magazine whilst their mum buys drinks, they are truly horrified yet loving it at the same time. She’s just sat down and hasn’t yet noticed, ha! now she has and practically knocks the table over, I’ve never seen anyone snatch something with such speed! Haggerston Espresso Room is in true Dalston freelance territory, lots of people on laptops and reading magazines. It’s off Kingsland Road on a side street so relies on word of mouth rather than foot traffic so it’s quite peaceful and a great place to hang out.
