Fix Coffee – Barbican

Fix is a truly fantastic cafe. It’s large and spacious with lots of places to sit since there’s no shortage of big comfy chairs and sofas. They have magazines to read strewn around and lots of pastries, cakes and snacks and of course, lattes, macchiatos, espressos, mochas and every other way we can dream up how to drink coffee. Me, I like a decaf, soya mocha, extra hot with chocolate on top. I’ve taken to printing these requirements on a little laminated card which I keep in my wallet ready to present to the barista wherever I may be, saves confusion. There is a nice creative feel to the place, with people sitting around working on laptops and lots of clutter decorating the back of the service counter.  It’s in a good location as there are a few little galleries on the street and a daily food market which is excellent not to mention the great stall selling back issue magazines with everything from Vice to POP and a whole load of other arty ones in between.
