Cafe Oto – Dalston

Now here’s a good one, Cafe Oto. Although it is a bit weird. It’s one huge room very sparingly furnished. If you sit alongside the window it’s great and everyone does which makes the rest of the room somewhat redundant. They have bands playing there, that’s probably where the space comes in handy. Being in Dalston I was expecting a tiny little place crammed full of furniture and Turkish people but instead found a huge warehouse-like space with random junk shop furniture instead. They have some nice food though including black sesame ice-cream and it feels very arty, there isn’t the slightest hint that anyone is trying too hard with this place, that I really like. It’s just a large room with some tables and chairs in it, some nice food and well that’s it.
