Clapton Hart – Clapton

I’d heard good things about the Clapton Hart. Rumour had it that the same people behind the Balham Bowls Club and the Tooting Tram & Social had taken over a previously rubbish venue and ‘did their thing’ with it. Now Clapton can boast to having one of the best pubs around. The Clapton Hart has great atmosphere and is entertainingly decorated with the contents of several junk shops. They are going for a shabby chic aesthetic, I can only imagine the conversation they had with the decorators “are you sure you want us to leave the peeling plaster?” “Oh yes definitely, it looks good like that”. It’s immensely spacious, with large tables along with smaller intimate tables, the good thing is that you are always going to get a seat. They do good and very reasonably priced food and a great Sunday lunch with a veggie option, although I would advise you book as everyone else in the area generally has the same idea on a Sunday.

That’s awesome. Just one thing – we do not take any bookings on a Sunday. First come, first served. Just walk in
