Rospo – Hackney

rospo3

In a city which is full to the brim with vintage and second hand shops it takes something to stand out. I have nearly gotten myself killed on numerous occasions cycling past Rospo craning my neck to see what exciting things they have piled up outside on the pavement. They usually have all kinds of old fashioned drawers for keeping paper and art supplies in and classic school desks and chairs. Upstairs they sell vintage clothes, for the boys, thick wool jumpers and heavy pea coats and for the girls all kinds of lovely things, I recently bought a pair of 1960’s mustard Mary Janes, a pair of character shoes for tap dancing and a nicely worn army rucksack. Downstairs they have a good selection of classic furniture, from 1960’s G-plan to mosaic covered tables, I even spot a JH Lynch painting in the corner, nothing will entice me more than a super kitsch JHLynch or a Tretchikoff painting. All in all Rospo has a little bit of everything, all carefully picked out and nicely affordable.
