Petersham Nurseries – Richmond, London

Petersham Nurseries is definitely the prettiest cafe I have ever been too. It’s both an informal ‘Teahouse’ and Michelin starred restaurant (The Cafe), set within a nursery next to the Thames and Petersham Meadows which makes it especially beautiful. As long as you have a taste for style above function you’ll love it. The tables [...]

The Doodle Bar – Battersea

I know that Made in Chelsea is a god awful show, I do know that but I have to say that it is useful for finding some quite cool places in West London. Like the Doodle Bar for example. When I first moved to London I lived in a hideous tenement block around the corner [...]

Embassy East, Hoxton

Embassy East is in my opinion the best cafe in the area. Run by Tommy, Lehi and Chris (who wasn’t there when I took the photos), they source everything more or less locally with bread coming from the e5 Bakehouse, Smoked Salmon (the Alaskan kind) from Stoke Newington and coffee from Clerkenwell…

Mahogany Bar Wilton’s Music Hall – Aldgate

Wilton’s Music Hall appears to be hanging on to its original self for dear life. The Mahogany Bar was originally built in 1725, it’s pretty damn old and it’s beautiful inside, all original brick work and wooden beams…

Crate Brewery – Hackney Wick

Ok so I think it best that on this occasion I just list what I think is great about the Crate, so here goes; 1. The pizza is the best I have had in London, with toppings like ricotta, caramelised onions and courgette. 2. They have their own Brewery which has garnered much attention from the likes of Jamie Oliver and Truman Brewery, I don’t know much about beer so that’s all I can tell you, that and the labels look cool…

46b Espresso Hut – Hackney

I found this great little cafe when I was out on by bike the other day trying to find somewhere open to shelter from the snow. It’s a lovely little place, it’s amazing what some people can do with a very ordinary space, 46b is effortlessly cool and quirky…
